Anubias Nana Petite is a miniature, ultra-hardy plant that brings a touch of premium scale and detail to nano aquariums. Because its leaves are exceptionally small and densely packed, it makes small tanks look much larger than they are. This is an epiphyte plant, meaning it grows attached to wood or rocks via its thick rhizome, rather than being buried in soil. It is notoriously slow-growing, which means it requires very little maintenance and trimming. It thrives in low-light setups and requires no CO2. Its tough, leathery, dark-green leaves provide perfect, sturdy resting platforms for dwarf shrimp and nano fish.

- • If you bury the thick green rhizome (the horizontal stem) in the substrate, the plant will suffocate and rot.
- • Due to its extremely slow growth rate, it is highly susceptible to algae growth on its leaves if placed under bright lighting.
- • It occasionally flowers underwater, producing a beautiful, small white spathe resembling a peace lily.
