Originating from Argentina, it features bright green, round leaves that creep laterally along the substrate. While it *can* grow without injected CO2, providing high light and CO2 will result in a much tighter, denser carpet that spreads rapidly. It requires a nutrient-rich aquasoil to truly thrive. When fully grown in, a Monte Carlo carpet provides a stunning contrast against dark shrimp like the Black Rose or Blue Dream, and gives your tank a professional, aquascaped appearance.
