Sporting a striking yellow and dark brown spiraled shell that resembles a bumblebee, this predatory snail actively hunts, kills, and eats other smaller snails like pest bladder snails, ramshorns, and pond snails. They use a specialized tube to paralyze and consume their prey. Despite their fearsome name, they are completely safe to keep with fish, dwarf shrimp, and plants. They only pose a threat to other snails. When there are no snails left to eat, they will gladly scavenge on leftover fish food, bloodworms, or sinking wafers. They breed in freshwater but very slowly, typically laying single eggs rather than massive clutches.
