Java Moss is the ultimate beginner-friendly aquatic plant and an absolute necessity for any shrimp breeding tank. It requires practically zero effort to grow—no special lighting, no CO2 injection, and no nutrient-rich soil. It draws all its nutrients directly from the water column. You can attach it to driftwood or rocks using superglue (cyanoacrylate) or fishing line, and it will eventually attach itself and spread, creating a dense, lush green underwater jungle. For dwarf shrimp, Java Moss is a paradise. It provides vast surface area for biofilm (the main food source for baby shrimp) to grow, and offers impenetrable hiding spots for shrimplets to escape from fish.
